IS IT SAFE TO TRUST OUR FEELING?

THE TRANSCRIPT

Is it safe to trust our feeling?

The answer is yes, we can trust it. But. First we must learn to interpret what it says. We must remember how to speak its language. Imagine: you could have the most trusted guide of all time, but if this person is speaking Chinese + you don’t, you’re in trouble.

My mom has this hilarious tendency when we’re driving. She gives directions, and she gives good directions, too; but her fingers + her mouth are not connected (haha). She’ll point left + say, “Turn right.” She says, “Follow my finger, not my words. Go where the finger is pointing.”

And this, I think, is exactly what happens to us in real life as well. The finger + the mouth are not aligned. We’ve got a disconnect between the body + the mind: a simple matter of misunderstanding - poor communication. That is all.

The Forgotten Sense has been designed to close this gap: illuminating vital resources + demonstrating how to use them in real life.

CONTINUED…

We’ve got this noisy mind that is attempting to direct us, saying, “Go this way, go that way” (that’s my mom’s voice); and then we’ve got this physical sensation (her finger) that is constantly communicating the ideal - pointing us in the right direction every time.

But if our conscious mind is not aware of this (that the body is communicating powerful, effective, beneficial signals), and hasn’t yet learned how to value (or interpret the signal of) the pointing finger, we are out of luck - we are left guessing.

And that’s exactly what the mind has learned to do.
