INVISIBLE LEADERSHIP

A leader is best when people barely know he exists; when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves. (Lao Tzu)

One of my most powerful personal gifts is seeing the absolute best in the other. I see this "absolute best" as an actual fact, not "potential." But this greater version self is so often forgotten (or buried) beneath many dampening layers.

The truth is, I can't do the work of removing those blockages for anyone but myself. The best I can do is continue to call for the absolute best part of you, while doing the best that I can to live from that same place within me.

The truth is, my only real work is a personal work that may serve as a living example: a call to remember that each of us is so much better than we have been led to believe.

The "leader" in me is not meant for the stage or the spotlight. He is vacuuming floors, lighting incense, and smiling at the cashier.

He is perfectly human - in all of the richness that comes with that beautiful term. He is visible only to those who are ready to see.

And finally: his work is not to do-for-you, but rather to show you how capable you are at doing all this for yourself.

At the end of the day, there's not one thing about your success that I am responsible for: it's all you.

It is best if I barely exist: I exist for the joy of my story, and to celebrate you-living-yours.
