THE GIFT OF PATIENCE VS. BEING-PATIENT
CONTEXT

Trust. Trust, trust, trust. This is really powerful. On my own Gene Keys profile, I have a handwritten note. It says, Patience is a field of trust. Patience exists as a field of trust. But there’s a marked difference between Patience + being patient. And this is what we’re really talking about today.
It’s true that we can force ourselves, for a period of time, to be patient. It doesn’t come naturally to us, it’s not easy, but we can make ourselves be patient. “I can do this. I can be patient. I can wait.”
But ultimately what we’re aiming for is something softer, something lighter - something that feels a lot more natural than ‘being patient.’ And that’s what true Patience is.
CONTINUED…
True Patience is not imposed. Patience is a state of being, and it’s a state of being held in a field of trust. This takes a bit of mental gymnastics, so bear with me for a moment. When you’re being-patient, you’re being patient for something; but True Patience is a total reality unto itself.
There’s nothing to wait for because you’re centered in the happening of right now. And that brings us right back to the story of the body - right back into the beauty + the promise of genuine fulfillment.
Everything comes back to this now-moment. Everything finds its center in the spine. Everything collapses into Now.
This is why the body holds the keys: when we relax, we come back down into the novelty of human life.

And so, Patience is about becoming available to what is current, real, and true: to everything that’s unfolding in-this-moment. As that gift of Patience is activated within, you actually connect to the ultimate essence of this story, which is Timelessness.
There isn’t even such a thing as time from this perspective. There’s no need to concern ourselves with time when everything is held inside the miracle + beauty of right-now.

From this place, we allow ourselves to be surprised by each new moment, over + over + over again. And very quickly, as a result of this position, the experience of one’s life becomes a Grand Adventure.
And I don’t mean for that to be some cute idea. I don’t intend to be romantic. Life is an epic adventure. But it takes a bit of practice to experience it as such: to relax + really feel it.
This is not a matter of waiting for something to happen someday; it’s about releasing to the flow of what is actually happening now.
CONTINUED…
In the end, it’s really very simple. Everything - everything - is happening right now. So Patience is about opening the eyes of wonder to remember just how magical our experience really is. Naturally, out of that, comes gratitude.
The fact that we get to exist in these beautiful human forms - that we get to open our eyes + wake each morning to the gift of a brand new day, to the gift of a fresh beginning over + over again - it’s utterly remarkable.
Every single moment, we are reborn. That is an unspeakable gift. It’s a thrill! We get to be captivated by the awesome implications of that story.
And we get to release ourselves into the essence that supports it, which is gratitude.

Of course, these words all speak to the same thing. Words like gratitude, surrender, patience, trust: all of these words come together to create this nested reality.
And this reality is a story that can only be lived-into. It is something we must feel more than discuss. We experience this reality through feeling.
It’s the underlying gift of what it means to be alive in human form.
