BEYOND HUMAN DESIGN: PART 1
My relationship to Human Design has had many twists + turns. Early on, I found myself repeatedly intimidated by the library of information on the subject. It would cost me several years of discovering + discarding the material before I finally committed to a full-time exploration of the system. Eventually, my perspective on the subject was acknowledged + requested + referred, and the Mirror Session was a natural result of this (completely unsolicited) demand.
Back then, I met with 3-4 people per day, offering what was essentially my version of a Human Design reading, with an emphasis on the value of embodied application of the work. During this period, I was fortunate to meet + serve so many special humans - several of whom have become close friends. I will be forever grateful for the magic of these meetings + this time.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I found myself exhausted by the schedule. 3-4 sessions per day was just too much. So I scaled back to a maximum of 3. And then again to 2. And then again to only 1. This became my sweet spot in the end, and has permitted me to offer my complete attention to each conversation I have hosted ever since.
I also found myself fatigued by one-off meetings. It was clear to me that the deeper value of this work could never be imparted in an hour. What I wanted was the opportunity to cultivate relationships + insight over time. What I wanted was the chance to meet real life with real live people in real ways.
But something else was happening as well. This was more than a logistical refinement:
I was growing disillusioned with the process of analysis itself.
It was time for me to shed Human Design.
