DISCOVER: BRAIN PROCESS

Every human body is equipped with a particular sort of brain process that determines how that body will assimilate (receive, and then make use of) information, including the nutritional information of our food. This brain process is a very physical, entirely unconscious aspect of the body’s natural function + is distinct from what we commonly refer to as “the mind.” In other words, what we’re dealing with is the physical biomass of the human brain itself.

At this stage of human development, there are two distinct forms of brain process: one known as Active + one known as Passive. Understanding which of these processes is relevant to your own experience is a significant determining factor in terms of your relationship to food.

MY BRAIN PROCESS

My personal brain process is known as Active. This is a more primitive system of processing information that requires alert engagement with the world around me at all times. Keep in mind that this process is not something that I consciously perform or choose; it is a functional extension of my nature, it’s built-in.

Because my brain is “always on” in its attempt to keep me safe, it spends an awful lot of energy + needs to be consistently refueled. Eating, for me, is how I refuel this process, provided that I am eating in a way that my digestive process can make sense of.

This also means that it is distinctly un-healthy (and unsafe) for me to fast. If I were to fast, the lack of nutrients would starve my brain of what it needs to manage basic body functions. Fasting for a body built like mine would shut the system down.

PERSONAL RESULTS

Studying, applying, and developing this information has been perhaps the most transformative + rewarding experience of my life. It has dramatically improved the state of my health, refined my worldview, and perfected my learning process.

It has completely altered the way I choose to move through my own life + it has helped me to be present with each moment of my day. It has permitted parts of me I hadn’t known were natural, appropriate, or true.

Most of all, it’s made my whole life sacred, even those most commonplace requirements of a typical human day.
