NARRATIVE DESIGN: REFLECTIONS

CONTEXT

The following reflection was inspired by a recent conversation with my friend, Luciano Armani, who will be featuring the full discussion on his podcast sometime soon. These thoughts emerged as a practical exploration of NARRATIVE DESIGN: one of three pillars upon which I have built my everyday experience.

I introduce each of these Three Pillars in my talk with Luciano, which is something I have never done before in quite this way. Needless to say, I cannot wait to share the full recording just as soon as it has been released!

Until that time, I hope that you’ll enjoy my little teaser. Here it is:

REFLECTIONS

Life is a Teacher. There is always an opportunity to see, to grow, to expand - to become better, more grounded, and more aware as the result of any experience, regardless of its comfort level. So the first thing is to shift away from the victim narratives and to develop an awareness of the fact that we are forever the student of enthusiastic teachers sharing wisdom through the many-colored medium of our ordinary lives.

This is the humility of the hero + his journey: it’s understanding that there’s always something else to live up into. There is always something new for us to learn, a fresh call to the beauty + the terror of adventure. Life becomes a story that we live out in real time.
